Adam Oppenheim is a play-by-play broadcaster for Purdue University Northwest, who also served as the basketball play-by-play for Highland Community College. He graduated from Indiana University in 2025, where he called games on Big Ten Plus and WIUX Sports, Indiana’s student radio station. He also served as a sports reporter for IUSTV, Indiana’s student television station.
He grew up in Lisle, Illinois in a sports household. Ever since he can remember, Adam’s number one hobby was watching and playing sports. His older brother introduced him to sports broadcasting, and eventually he too called games for his school, Naperville North High School. It was at this time that the dream formed to be a professional sports broadcaster. Adam paired broadcasting with sports writing and editing for The North Star, the school paper.
Behind the Mic
After graduating high school, Adam attended Indiana University’s Media School and had many opportunities broadcasting for the Hoosiers. He called seven different sports, an experience that culminated in broadcasting Indiana women’s basketball courtside in their first two tournament games of NCAA March Madness in South Carolina. College summers were spent as a broadcaster and media relations intern for summer collegiate baseball teams.
Since graduating, Adam has called games for JEDtv, which broadcasts high school and college sports in Northwest Indiana. He also served as the play-by-play broadcaster for men’s and women’s basketball at Highland Community College, a Division I JUCO. Most recently, he broadcast for Purdue University Northwest, a Division II branch of Purdue University.
